Fe-Catalyzed C–C Bond Construction from Olefins via Radicals
This Article details the development of the iron-catalyzed conversion of olefins to radicals and their subsequent use in the construction of C-C bonds. Optimization of a reductive diene cyclization led to the development of an intermolecular cross-coupling of electronically-differentiated donor and acceptor olefins. Although the substitution on the donor olefins was initially limited to alkyl a...
متن کاملAn efficient and general route to reduced polypropionates via Zr-catalyzed asymmetric CC bond formation.
An efficient and general method for the synthesis of reduced polypropionates has been developed through the application of asymmetric carboalumination of alkenes catalyzed by dichlorobis(1-neomenthylindenyl)zirconium [(NMI)(2)ZrCl(2)]. In this investigation, attention has been focused on those reduced polypropionates that are alpha-monoheterofunctional and either omega-ethyl or omega-n-propyl. ...
متن کاملCatalytic Diamination of Olefins via N–N Bond Activation
CONSPECTUS: Vicinal diamines are important structural motifs present in various biologically and chemically significant molecules. Direct diamination of olefins provides an effective approach to this class of compounds. Unlike well-established oxidation processes such as epoxidation, dihydroxylation, and aminohydroxylation, direct diamination of olefins had remained a long-standing challenge an...
متن کاملHydrogen-bond-directed highly stereoselective synthesis of Z-enamides via Pd-catalyzed oxidative amidation of conjugated olefins.
An efficient procedure for the preparation of Z-enamides has been developed, involving the reaction of primary amides with conjugated olefins using a Pd/Cu cocatalyst system. It was found that certain additives, such as phosphine oxides and phosphonates, increase the efficiency of the reaction in nonpolar solvents under an oxygen atmosphere, thus producing a variety of Z-enamides in high yields...
متن کاملAn efficient biomimetic Fe-catalyzed epoxidation of olefins using hydrogen peroxide.
A new, environmentally benign and practical epoxidation method was developed using inexpensive and efficient Fe catalysts. FeCl3.6H2O in combination with commercially available pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid and amines showed excellent reactivity and selectivity towards aromatic olefins and moderate reactivity towards 1,3-cyclooctadiene utilizing H2O2 as the terminal oxidant.
